COMMEMORATIVE BRICKS AT THE HOMELESS RESOURCE CENTER
For the first time ever, Palm Beach County will have a single entry point location to connect homeless individuals to housing. This "Housing First" model is the primary goal of the center and that is getting individuals and families into homes. It recognizes that housing is a basic human right that should not be denied to anyone. The vision and scope of assistance at the HRC is even broader. From the time a guest enters the front door at the Homeless Resource Center, they will receive a diverse offering of quality services and referrals with the specific goal of restoring each homeless individual to a self-sufficient and productive lifestyle. Guests placed in the Centers' interim housing program will have access to the HRC Serenity Garden . The purpose of the garden is to be a natural world environment where the stresses of homelessness can be alleviated.
Bricks will be incorporated into the walkway of the HRC Serenity Garden. By purchasing a Commemorative Brick , you will leave a lasting mark on the efforts to end homelessness in Palm Beach County. Please join us in this unique partnership of business, non-profit, government, formerly homeless, and the community at-large to make a difference in other people's lives.
A special message, name and/or logo can be laser engraved on your choice of three sizes of bricks, 4"x8", 8"x8" or 8"x8" w/logo. Special pricing is in effect until April 15, 2012.

MLK DAY OF SERVICE
- MONDAY, JANUARY 16, 2012
The MLK Day of Service shines a spotlight on service
as a powerful force to bridge economic and social divides on that day and
throughout the year. National Days of
Service provide each of us with an opportunity to join
neighbors and local leaders to tackle community challenges and strengthen the
nation.
As the need for service continues to grow, Dr. King is honored by giving back and making an impact on our local communities. The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach county and the community volunteers are using the power of service to strengthen their own and each other's economic security and making a real difference locally.
This year, as a measure of goodwill between the Homeless Resource Center and the community, affiliated volunteers and 70 student volunteers from Florida Atlantic University will be sent to clean up litter debris around the resource center and the neighborhood. Neighborhood beautification will occur concurrently with the planting of a serenity garden at the resource center.
