YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT IN YOUR COMMUNITY
The Homeless Coalition has a great deal of opportunities for volunteers. Volunteers can be assigned to the main office of the Homeless Coalition as well the Senator Philip D. Lewis Center.
Current Volunteer Needs:
- Volunteer office assistants perform a variety of tasks including; greeting guests, opening and dating mail, typing letters and answering phones. Office assistants should be flexible enough to assist with a variety of tasks.
- Event committee volunteers work to organize events that help strengthen the Homeless Coalition’s message of ending homelessness. Event coordination may include project planning, creating check lists, acquiring resources, recruiting volunteers, scouting locations, logistics and day of event set up.
- Volunteers are needed to assist with outreach projects like Project Homeless Connect which occurs 3-4 times a year. Volunteers may also be asked to speak at schools, churches and special events.
- Individuals who have experienced homelessness may volunteer for the Faces of Homelessness Program to share their stories with students and community groups.
