Create Your Own Project

Organize your service club, church, business or neighborhood group to create a project to help the homeless. Your project will benefit those who are transitioning from homelessness to a place to call home.
Ideas & Examples:
Warm Welcome Kits:  
Collect and donate items and/or fill tote bags to give to individuals and families as they enter the Lewis Center. 
For both families and individuals tote bag filled with:
  • Toiletries
  • Clean underwear
  • Socks
  • T-shirts
  • Gift or discount coupons
For babies/toddlers – a diaper bag (or toddler bag) filled with:
  • Diapers
  • Baby toys
  • Toiletries
  • Clothes
Help with Transportation: Collect and donate items that will help increase the mobility of a person who is experiencing homelessness.
  • Bikes – In good working condition
  • Bike Locks
  • Bike Helmets
  • Bus passes and tri-rail passes
Hold a collection drive among your co-workers featuring one of the items on our current needs list.
